TiviMate is the player most people move to once they have used IPTV for a while. It is built for the television rather than the phone, so the guide, the channel groups and the remote control all behave the way a normal TV does. This guide covers installing TiviMate, adding your MizoIPTV playlist, loading the EPG, organising channels, and what the Premium version actually adds.
Which devices TiviMate runs on
TiviMate is an Android TV app. That means:
- Works: Android TV boxes, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Amazon Firestick and Fire TV, and Android TV built into some Sony, Philips and TCL sets.
- Does not work: iPhone, iPad and Apple TV; Samsung Tizen and LG webOS Smart TVs; MAG and Enigma2 boxes. Those need a different player — ask us and we will name one for your device.
Android phones are not the target either. The app is designed around a remote with a D-pad, not a touchscreen.
Step 1: Install TiviMate
- On an Android TV device, open the Google Play Store and search for TiviMate.
- On a Firestick, open Find → Search and look for it in the Amazon Appstore.
- Install it, then move it to the front row of your home screen so it is easy to reach.
If the store on your device does not list it, follow the sideloading steps in our Firestick IPTV setup guide and use only the developer’s official download address.
Step 2: Add your MizoIPTV playlist
On first launch TiviMate asks you to add a playlist. Choose the option that matches the details we sent you after purchase.
Xtream Codes login (recommended)
- Select Add playlist → Enter URL, then switch to the Xtream Codes option if your version offers it.
- Enter the server URL including
http://and the port, then your username and password exactly as sent — both are case-sensitive. - Name the playlist
MizoIPTVand confirm.
With an Xtream login, TiviMate pulls the channel list, logos, the TV guide and catch-up in one go, so there is nothing else to configure.
M3U playlist link
Select Add playlist → Enter URL and paste the full M3U address. If you were given a separate EPG (XMLTV) address, add it under Settings → EPG → Add EPG source, otherwise the guide stays empty.
Step 3: Load and check the EPG
Open Settings → EPG and run an update. The first download can take several minutes because the guide covers thousands of channels and several days of programmes.
If some channels show programmes and others do not, the channel name in the playlist does not match the name in the EPG file. TiviMate lets you fix this one channel at a time: open the channel settings and pick the matching EPG entry manually.
Step 4: Organise your channels
This is where TiviMate earns its reputation. Press the left arrow on the remote while watching to open the panel, then:
- Hide what you will never watch. In Settings → Playlists → Channels, uncheck entire categories in other languages. A 33,000 channel list becomes usable once it is down to a few hundred.
- Build groups. Make groups such as Sports, Films, Kids and News with only the channels your household uses.
- Reorder channels so number 1 is the one you watch most.
- Set a start channel so the TV opens on it.
Free version vs Premium
TiviMate is free to install, and the free version plays channels and shows the guide perfectly well. Premium is a paid upgrade bought inside the app, and it is the part people ask about most. Premium is what unlocks multiple playlists at once, recording, the catch-up and archive browser, custom channel groups, scheduled recordings and a few interface options.
Whether it is worth it depends on how you watch. If you have one subscription and you watch live, the free version is enough. If you want catch-up on supported channels, recordings, or you run two providers side by side, Premium is the reason most people buy it. Prices and terms are set by the app’s developer, not by MizoIPTV, so check them in the app.
Common TiviMate problems and fixes
The playlist will not load
Re-check the server URL character by character: a missing http:// and a missing port number are the two usual culprits. A space copied at the end of a password also breaks it silently.
The guide is empty or the times are wrong
Run an EPG update, then check the time zone on the device itself. A TV box set to the wrong time zone shifts every programme in the guide by hours, which looks like a broken EPG but is not.
The picture stutters on a Firestick
In Settings → Playback, try the other decoder, then adjust the buffer size. If it affects every channel rather than a few, the cause is usually the connection — see our buffering fix guide and the speed you need for HD and 4K.
Channels stop when someone else turns on a TV
Each subscription allows a set number of screens at the same time. MizoIPTV offers 1, 2, 3 and 5 device plans — see the pricing page to match it to your household.
Frequently asked questions

Can I use TiviMate on iPhone or Apple TV? No. Use a player built for iOS and tvOS instead — our IPTV player comparison lists what works on which device.
Can I move my setup to a new TV box? Premium licences and playlist settings can be transferred through the app’s own account system. Your MizoIPTV login is simply added again on the new device.
